Cleaning your commercial carpet cover can be tricky if it’s a high-traffic area.
Here are a few tips for cleaning it efficiently.
Use a clean rag.
Commercial carpet cleaners typically use a clean cloth or cloth sponge to clean carpet cover.
They’re generally made of a synthetic fabric, but the cleaning process is similar to cleaning a carpeting floor or a tile floor.
The cleaner is meant to remove dirt and debris, not leave a sticky residue that can leave stains on carpet surfaces.
Commercial carpets often have a lot of carpet on them.
It’s important to wash the cloth or sponge with soap and water to remove the dirt.
Wash the carpet cover well with warm water.
Commercial commercial carpet cleaners are often meant to be used on carpet cover that’s dry and hard.
But if you use a commercial carpet cleaner on carpet that’s too hard, the cleaner may leave a residue on carpet surface that can stain it.
You can wash your carpet cover with warm tap water.
It won’t damage the carpet surface.
Never wipe the carpet on a towel or cloth napkin.
Commercial and household commercial carpet cleaning products use abrasive solvents to wash carpet surface and are intended to be applied to a surface where there’s a lot dirt or debris on it.
If you don’t have a cloth or napkin handy, use a wet sponge to wipe the surface and then scrub with a damp cloth towel to remove any dirt or grit.
Never use an abrasive cleaning pad or scrubber.
They can clog pores and can be harmful to carpet.
To clean carpet with a commercial cleaning pad, wipe with a clean towel or a clean napkin to remove excess dirt and grit.
Use the right brand of carpet cleaning pad.
Commercial cleaning pads have a soft sponge and a rubberized, sponge-like coating on the inside of the pad.
The pad is intended to wipe carpet with the softest, most efficient cleaning force.
It doesn’t remove dust, grime or other dirt.
Commercial products are often available at hardware stores or online.
But be sure to ask a professional if they offer one for commercial cleaning.
Rinse the pad thoroughly with warm, soapy water.
Rinsey your carpet surface with cold water to get rid of any sticky residue.
Use soft, gentle scrubbing motions to remove surface dirt.
If your carpet isn’t wet, use mild abrasives like water or dish soap.
The more abrasive the cleaner you’re using, the less likely you’ll damage carpet surfaces with carpet cleaning pads.
If possible, try using a commercial vacuum cleaner to vacuum the carpet.
Commercial vacuum cleaners tend to be easier to clean than commercial carpet scrubbers, so you can use a vacuum cleaner on a carpet that has a lot on it instead of a vacuum on a hard surface.
If the carpet isn, or at least has a very low amount of dirt on it, avoid using a vacuum to remove it.
Commercial vacuums may leave residue on the carpet or carpet cover if you’re not careful.
You might also want to use a damp towel to wipe it and scrub it with a dry cloth towel, or even use a scrubber to scrub it off with a wet towel.
If a commercial carpet cleaner doesn’t have the same cleaning capabilities as a commercial scrubber, consider cleaning the carpet with an electric or mechanical vacuum cleaner.
Electric or mechanical vacuuming is an excellent method of cleaning carpet surfaces because the cleaner has a motor that’s designed to pull dirt from carpet surfaces, not scrub the carpet and leave residue.
Commercial air cleaners typically are more efficient at cleaning carpet than commercial vacuum cleaners, so they may be a better choice if your carpet has a low amount on it and you’re considering an electric vacuum cleaner or a commercial vacuume.
