CATS are being forced to make do with a new carpet that’s not as comfortable as the one they got before, as the NHL continues to pay the bills.
With the league already facing significant revenue cuts this season, there are only so many carpets left to be made.
Players are being given a new pair of carpet bags in hopes of making up for the lost revenue.
With that in mind, the league decided to offer the new carpet bag as a reward for players that do a little more than a good job of keeping the team’s equipment clean.
This is something the league has been doing since the start of the season, but the teams are still getting paid on the carpet bag when they do the job.
“The league wants to give you a reward when you do the work you are supposed to be doing,” said commissioner Gary Bettman.
“That’s something we want to give to our players.”
The new carpet bags have been a hit with players, with many teams making the change to keep their equipment clean and looking their best.
Some teams have been offering the new bags to players for years.
